SO GLAD....

I am so happy to be back at work.

Yes, I ache more and am tired. I have to rest more. BUT, I am so much happier and mentally stronger when I can get out and about. I am one of those people who cannot, CANNOT, be left long to my own devices.

That's fantastic! Good for you. I was out of work for 3 years due to multiple knee surgeries. When I was able to drive and walk I did a lit better mentally keeping busy. I did a lot of organizing and cleaning. I even organized it get people homes and would get paid.
I have now been back to work for a year. 8-5 M-F. Although I like to be out I find it is very hard for me physically with my knee and having Fibro. I would love to work part time!!

That is great your working again. I wish my health would allow me to work. Work while you can.

Still picking up classes day-by-day. Did my first middle school this week. They were funny.

It's not burning energy in the same way, like when I am in my own class teaching my own thing.

The problem here is my need for mental stimulation is, at the moment, far greater than my body's need. Also, the need for money!

I've been doing nothing but afternoons now for probably a year. Just haven't been able to coerce my body into handling those early mornings. It's gotten to be this huge hurdle I need to overcome.

As you know, I only do elementary, and today I got a plumb - library!

Debbie-I would NOT be good with the little ones. Actually, had sixth grade today, and found the school a little too touchy-feely, follow-your-inner-voice-and-not-directions, indulge the ole free spirit because childhood is beautiful. Either the school is run poorly, or the teacher I was covering for was a wee bit too permissive. Wow. However, the middle school earlier this week was just fine.

Even though I whine about the mornings, I do feel it's good for me. Builds character, and routine.

Thanks, Sofia! It takes time to get used to fibro, so be patient with yourself. Every BODY is so different, and we respond to different things. I learned in the last six months that I crave work, that I like to do things, to be useful. We like to think that without work, the illness will be managed better. I would argue that each person needs to find what works for them.

So happy for you! Even though I had to cut my hours, I'm thankful to be able to work. It really helps me to focus on something besides my health and the pain.
