Hi, i live in PA and i can't deal with the cold. I have fibromyalga, arthritis, CFS, anxiety, herniated disc, sleep apnea. Hypertension. I hurt so bad in the cold weather and really feel i need to move to warm climate. I always feel better around the ocean. I will be able tove anywhere i want in about 4 months and was thinking of moving to south Carolina. Any thoughts on thus or other suggestions would be great. Thank you.

The lower edge of SC is nice and a lot warmer than PA.
I've lived all over GA and if you want no snow go further south. Snow for a day or two go middle GA. If you want about only a week of snow move to upper GA.

Thank you for responding and yes i was looking at Florence county SC. I? As looking at places in GA but i have no idea where to look in GA. I can move anywhere but must make it my last move as i have a 15 yr old Son. I saw great houses for rent in GA that were cheap too but i don't know what the area's are Luke living and weather wise.

Hi seldom, welcome to the forum!

I'm originally from Wisconsin and can no longer tolerate the cold winters. We are living in Arkansas now because of hubby's job. The winter here is still too cold and damp for me. We are planning to retire to the Sarasota-Venice area on the gulf side, southwest Florida someday.

South Carolina is a beautiful state...we vacationed in Myrtle Beach and Charleston. We lived in Chattanooga, Tn for a few years and the winters were too cold and damp, although the state is lovely. Also lived in Atlanta, Ga. and winters weren't warm enough. I guess I always dreamed of living in Florida. Over the years we vacationed plenty there and are familiar with the weather year round.

City-data.com is a useful website that has everything you would want to know about any area, including weather. I would advise to take a vacation to an area you are considering to live and get as much info as you can regarding, housing, taxes, convenience, and available medical care.

I live in a rural community in the northern part of GA and it's a rather nice area. We bought our house for $35,000. It was a 100 yr old fixer upper. Most homes in rural areas are fairly cheap. However, I do have to travel far for good health care.

I hope that you find a climate that will help you. I too am having a hard time with the winters here in northern (lower) Michigan... I think I would like NC. I know I would love Florida... But for me it takes money to move... For now I will live with winter. If I could get out and do things, I think it would be easier to tolerate. But I have to start doing things before I get too old to do them. And too stiff. I hope to be walking or skiing soon. HOPE...

Thank you everyone. I have been to SC a few times and just loved it there. I have never been to GA. I know that the closer i am to the ocean the better i feel. I still must and want to do lots with my Son, but now i can barely move here in PA. I just want to make sure,, i make the right decision. I am so glad i joined this forum.
