Hi, Pammy. I've been largely MIA for almost a week, so missed your post. Another welcome from me! Don't remember seeing anyone direct you to "Fibro 101," (our 1st post on the list), though of course I don't remember about half of what I see/read/think. Anyway, it's great, especially for people new to Fibro. Lots of help there.
I have IBS (largely controlled now through diet and Miralax and Citrucel) and it used to cause me a lot of lower-abdominal pain. I wonder if appendix or gallbladder issues could be causing some of yours, because they both were with me?...I never would have suspected them, but they were guilty! :)
To answer your other question, the doctor who diagnosed me was a specialist in internal medicine/allergies. I'm still with him, 20 yrs. later. He did a quick run-through of most of the tender points, and said, "Yep, you've got 'em." But before that, he also took 2 hours with me, asking questions, listening to my answers (!) and reading my medical records. He's a gem.
Hope to see you around more, so we can get to know you better.
Debbie
