Its interesting because recently I just read another article targeted to the general public stating that low vitamin D levels can be *indicative* of illness, rather than a *cause* of illness. (And that article doesn't necessarily contradict this one), but the writers of that article used that idea as a reason to advocate against using Vitamin D, arguing that the pills were a waste of money and useless since they don't prevent illness.
It seems like the conclusions we can make from both articles would be: Taking D on a regular basis does not appear to *prevent* illness and very Low D levels could be seen as an indication of illness rather than a cause in many cases. However, people with especially low levels of D who experience FM pain would still benefit from taking D in terms of feeling of well being and reduction in pain.
In other words: D,
..a cure in prevention of illness? No
..a suitable regimen for some who are already ill with low levels? Yes for many
