OMG. I tried to use my Macy's card at Kroger for groceries the other day. I got mad when it did not work. The very kind cashier had to point it out. As for the date thing, I always know the date, just not the month.

I go to a local hair school when I feel bad. They gave me a senior discount for my wash and style. It was a bad day and I guess I walked like an old lady who had gotten a face lift. LOL.. I am only 47.

so you know you have fibro when you get a senior discount and you are not a SENIOR...

So my kids and hubby were all giggles most of the morning and I couldn't understand why.....when my daughter as she walked out the door whispers to me "Mumma its Multy Vitamins not.....Vulty Mitamins!!!"

Well atleast it made my day wathching them laugh!! (even though it was at me).

You know you have fibro when you have to ask what the date is. Month, day AND year. I recently filled out a form for a doctor where they had to have me correct the entire date that I'd written.

You also know that you have fibro when finding a piece of clothing that's comfortable AND looks like actual clothes makes your month.

Am I the only one who gets time mixed up with numbers? For example, I can look at the clock at 4:50 and think in my head it's 4-1/2 pm. Or sometimes even put 4:50 on the microwave timer when I mean 4:30.

That sounds about right! :) Whenever I do anything with numbers, it's like my brain is walking on ice and I have to step very carefully or I'll totally spin out...I was like this even before Fibro, but now it's ridiculous!

I do this ALL the time. Today I was talking to my son, and mispronounced plethora. I was so happy to remember one of my "big words", unfortunately the pronounciation (and spelling LOL) police are not always on board.

Morning all...
I'm new to fibro and new to this site. I had to chuckle with you and many of these tidbits that I can relate to. I'm not so scared any more, knowing I'm not alone. Here's one I just recently experienced on daily driving route...

I drove up to the four way stop that I have driven to a thousand times. I sat there for at least 5-7 minutes waiting for the light to turn green, before I realized there was no traffic light, and STOP signs don't turn green!

Yesterday I swiped my debit card at a register and stood there staring at the machine waiting on it and then suddenly realized I hadn't entered my pin number yet.

…when your brain makes odd connections for you so you say odd things or put things consistently in the wrong place. In my house if you can't find the can opener it's probably in the deli drawer of the frig. Missing keys or expensive cell phone? Likely in the recycle bin. DH knows when I say Carl's Jr, I really mean Jack in the box. There are sooooo many more examples I could list, and this isn't counting the one off things that I say or do wrong.

I can't believe it hasn't already been mentioned… you decide to do something (bathroom, drink of water, move laundry, whatever) and by the time you've stood up from your chair you've already forgotten why you were getting up. So you stand there blankly for a minute, then just sit back down.

Yes Trix007 this happens so often to me that now I keep moving in the direction that I am pointed hoping that I might notice something that needs doing as I pass. Works sometime but mostly doesn't. Otherwise I am up down up down like a Jack in the box.... or do I mean a Carl's Jr. smilewinkgrin Neenaa

You decide to make chicken for dinner so you put it in the pan and place it in the oven to cook. about 30 minutes later your husband comes in and says umm honey were you going to cook this chicken or just leave it on the counter to do its own thing? I had not even put it in the oven lol Or another time when I did put food in the oven but forgot to turn it on so an hour later still no food. Then there is the time that my son came to visit, opened the freezer and discovered the cordless phone and asked if I was trying to make the batteries last longer.
