What meds are people on for their fibro and other conditions?

I recently have come off amitriptyline, in 1st week off it, and i have never known a week like it...I just cant sleep, no matter what i do or how much sleeping tab i take...I am soooo tired and yet my sleep switch just wont switch!

Could this be the amitriptyline withdrawl? The doc thinks i should go back on it, but i came off under her supervision as didnt want to be on too many meds

I am currently on (overall): propanonol as and when need for fast heart...lanzaprazole for reflux and then sleep meds and these new muscle relaxers and the pill (have just come off this the last month also) and thats it..plus odd cocodamol when pain is real bad.

I thought the amitriptyline was doing me no good and i still couldnt sleep at best of times, but my sleep is non existent now! I even took a temazepam last night and NOTHING!

Im wondering if i should go back on these or try and manage without little meds

When taking a med there are always potential side effects and if you take more than one type of med there are chances of drug interaction. If you have more than one doc, your docs need to know all your medications.

Some people suffer from anxiety, worrying about medications and their possible side effects. I have some potentially life threatening conditions that require me to take some meds that are "scary toxic." Because of this fact all my meds are in the moderate to major risk interaction category. I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. In my situation, there are combinations of meds that can't be avoided.

Presently, I'm taking 7 different prescriptions plus three different supplements. All my specialists work as a team and I put my trust in them. I also know my pharmacist and have talked to him.

Call your doctor regarding any side effects you are experiancing. Perhaps a change in dosage or med is
needed.

yeah i have chatted to my doc about interactions, i even went in with a list of supplements and she has no idea - i think for peace of mind I will write everything down and show my pharmacist as they have more of a clue about interactions...in my books

I just hate meds - i feel like i have gone down the med hill and cant get back to how i was at the beginning pre med and I dont know what is causing what and what is actually my illnesses!!!??

I came off the amitriptyline after chatting to my doc and she said we could try baclofen, but im too scared to try it now in case I go down another med hill...sorry just having a rant

I do understand...it is frustrating. One of my meds is causing me some very unwanted side effects, including mood changes. I feel like I've experienced extreme PMS since mid December when I was put on it. I see my pulmonologist tomorrow and will see if he can continue to wean me off of it. I am still on a relatively high dosage. Unfortunately it is a med that takes a very long time to wean off of.

Taking one day at a time is all any one can do.

I think you have tried remron for sleep and you didn't like the hangover side effect. I use this drug and it does take time to get adjusted to the side effects. It keeps your mind from racing at night too. Have you had a sleep study done?

no - i am waiting for one though, it takes months and months on NHS - it is something to consider though...Yes tried remeron - its a possibility to go back on that if things dont work out - esp now I am not at work
