OT Will be meeting with my thoracic surgeon

I saw my pulmonologist today. My pleural effusion of the right lung has not improved and is getting worse. Next Tuesday I will be meeting with the surgeon who did my lung cancer surgery. Exploratory surgery is needed to see what is going on, My pulmonologist is hoping that I can have the surgery ASAP. Don't know what to think. I guess, I just go with the flow and hope for the best.

Please say a prayer for me. I'm am trying to generate positive thoughts. One good thing...I do get to wean off the wicked prednisone.

I am sorry to hear that you have 'One more thing' to worry about. Good to hear you can get off the pred. That's a bit of good news w/ all the worry.

Yesterday both hubby and I went down to the Social security office to apply for our Social security benefits. He is planning on retiring on July 1st. I guess if I need surgery, the timing is right. Better now than later. We are both excited about the idea of moving to Florida when it is possible.

I've been really dragging lately and hoping that they can find the cause of the lung effusion. Hoping the surgery will rule out any malignancy. Getting my breath back with some energy would do me wonders. I am hopeful, but I know the outcome is not my choice but His. Knowing this eases my worries...I can control only so much and I choose not to spend my energy worrying. I am very lucky that I will see my surgeon soon. Waiting is not fun.

Your wonderfully positive attitude is something I try to emulate every day - with very mixed results! The joy in life that comes through your posts is undeniable. I know you trust your doctors, so that's a biggie right there, and then you have your faith, so yes, all you can do now is try to coast along.

I hope you can get the surgery quickly and then find out it's something benign and easily fixable.
