Hi everyone.

After two mastectomies (the latest 6 weeks ago) ovary removal and chemo I am finally well. But after all this stress my fibro went crazy. I am finally seeing a pain management doctor. He has me taking tramadol 50 mg twice a day and 3 gabapentins at bedtime. The tramadol does seem to wear off after 8 hours though and I wonder if the doctor will increase the dosage. Being older (68) I know they worry about giving we seniors too much of a drug.

I feel like a new person. I'm not pain free but I feel so much better. I am still walking my golden 2+ miles a day and I hope to be able to bike ride again.

I hope to be back here soon.

Congratulations! You have been through so much and have come out the victor. It's only been a little while since your last surgery so give your body time to heal. I bet the fibro pain will ease
up for you as you heal. See if you can take vitamin D3 and magnesium malate now. These shouldn't hurt you and could really help with your pain.

Since you have been gone, you probably aren't aware that Robin, aka Crazykitty, is battling cancer. If you scan down you will see her most recent post and your story sure could be encouraging for her, too.

I'm glad you are back and in far better health! I'm looking forward to your posts again.

So glad to hear everything is behind you and you are dong so well!!


My dr has me on a med that has been helping w/ my muscles. I take a very low dose. My dr has even given me the ok to increase my dose, but if I do, I feel it the next day. He understands & we are good. My ins has decided my med is way too much for an 'elderly person'!! Yeah, I love that, too. NOT!!!!  I'm only 60.


I hope you can get a dose that is good for you. You've got a lot of living to do, Lady. :)

I'm so glad to hear this good news, Puppylover! That's quite a hurdle you've jumped!  It's great to have you back....walking, no less. Wow.

I hope the Tramadol and Gabapentin will end up helping you more, once you get the dose right.  I take Gabapentin too and find it very effective.
