How many of us have predominantly Type A personalities?

I know I do and this added stress of trying to do too much, trying to do things perfectly, etc. all add to the pain of fibro. I've been working on trying to "let things go" more, but that's always a challenge for me.

Yes, many of us are Type A personalities. I'm an extreme Type A. shakehead I do relaxing techniques and learn how to work around things and I am finally learning how to not spot the gnat on the wall from across the room. turn But, hey, this is me. This is my personality and I have learned how to handle this, along with my fibro, to have a full and enjoyable life!

I definitely have a Type A personality, but have learned a lot about how to relax and let go in some areas of my life in the last few years. Its definitely a work in progress, but its almost relieving to finally be able to let some things "go" and not have them always be "perfect"

Type A, yep, yep. Overachiever, perfectionist.

This is one of the good aspects of fibro. It has taught me to relax more and let things go.

"Will this matter in a year?"

"Will this hurt anyone?"

Can I reasonably manage to do something that will change the outcome of this?"

No, I'm not a Type A...in certain small areas of my life, I guess so, but not overall. I've always been too much of a dreamer...way before Fibrofog!

It's still hard to let things go, though, because the gap between any semblance of a well-run house and yard and what I can do about it is SOO vast - - I'm always reminding myself to just take it one day at a time, and take satisfaction in what little I can do.

I am a type A for sure ! I think I need to get everything done that day. It seems to got worse since I have been off work. I think I do this because I need to be busy so I wont have a pity party with my pain.

Me, definitely. I've had to learn to let go of a lot of my control freak tendencies and lower my housecleaning standards.

Yup, that's totally me. It is really hard for me to let go and allow things to happen (or not) without my interference. I am better about this than I used to be but it's a daily struggle. I bite my tongue a lot!
