I was switched by my insurance to a generic and it didn't work for my morning fibro pain. I asked to be put back on the name brand and it works fine. Has anyone else switched to generic and how did it work?

I was switched to the generic version of Cymbalta in February (duloxetine) and it was a disaster. My pain and depression both spiraled out of control. I just got back on Cymbalta this week and am looking forward to improvement.

Oh wow, that's terrible. I had to stop taking Cymbalta over a year ago because my insurance wouldn't cover brand name drugs and I couldn't afford it. But I actually started back on Cymbalta last month now that it is available as a generic. The generic has been working just well for me thank goodness.

I was switched to the generic after only a couple of weeks of being on the brand. It has been working for me but I wouldn't know if the brand would have been more effective.
