Steriod shots in upper thoratic (neck & shoulders)?

Hi Everyone!

I've just had the last of 3 series of shots in my kneck & shoulders and wonder if anyone else has had them and what they were like for them.

Series 1:  Nothing

Series 2:  Hurt to move head, rt kneck & left shoulder had terrible shooting pains, stayed in bed for 2 days.

Series 3:  (Tues 4/29) Seems like I was getting a little relief but, now it's all starting to ache again.

Would like to hear from others who may have had these done, PM recommended.

I heard steriod shots have limited life and they can deterate the joint eventually.

I had steroid shots in my knees a long time ago and all it did was cause more pain. If you don't get a lot of relief for an extended period of time, you might not have the shots again. Repeated steroid use can cause osteoporosis and cataracts, besides increasing anxiety. I hope you feel better soon.

My wife who is totally mentally stable had them in her neck and shoulder after an auto accident. In a few weeks I found out she was planning her funeral right down to the music and clothes she would wear.

The doctor said he has seen that response many times.

Many years ago I had one shot in my hip for a running injury and felt like I was on rocket fuel - didnt sleep for weeks.

I am going to see PM this week. I have to have some kind of relief for my back. He does lots of injections there. I really didn't want to get started on them. I see so many people getting them only to be a very short term relief or if any. I am going to see a surgeon to see my options too before making a choice. I know I need some kind of relief.
