Does fibro really originate in the periphery, not the CNS?

After a few threads this week in which I've mentioned peripheral neuropathies, I want to be sure everyone saw this article, and remind people that Cort Johnson's blog is one of the best sites for following research.

This article also offers a great explanation at the very end for why our muscle pain so often hits us hard after we stop doing whatever it was we did too much of.

I don't have an emotional investment in the periphery hypothesis but I'll say that your theory does not cover the course.

I do not have anxiety, or a CNS diagnosis.

Does anyone else care to repeat parts of that sentence? Except we've done this "I don't have anxiety thing" before.

Say what you want, but what I listen to is science. I have seen you telling everyone their fibro is anxiety based for years. I do not agree with blaming the patient. Given enough research money I believe a real underlying cause will be found. Not an emotional cause. I know people who suffer tremendous anxieties, and endure them for years, and they don't have diseases or syndromes.
