I went to see the rheumatologist yesterday for my 2nd visit. The first visit was 3 months ago and I went to see her because of some chest pain that my regular doctor thought might be chostrochondritis.
The rheumatologist thought that also and put me on prednisone. That did nothing for my issue. The chest pain is like muscle/skeletal and only bothers me when I bend over to do something or lay on my side and allow my chest to close. When I return to a sitting or standing position, I have to pull my shoulders back to feel normal again. I have had this issue since February.
So since my first appt I began to have pain in my fingers, akles and toes. I told her this yesterday and she did some pressing on my fingers and thinks I might have osteoarthritis. She didn't do any other testing.
I told her I also have pain in my upper arms. The pain feels like someone has been punching my arm and it aches. This was only on the left side but now I am getting it on the right side.
She now tells me because of the chest pain and arm pain that I might hae a component of fibromyalgia. She did not indicate this on my going home paper work but did in her notes.
What I am supposed to do with this? Should she be testing further?
Not sure about this doctor and thinking I might need to find a new one.
thanks for any input.
