Welcome, Heather!
Loring and Sherrine have posted some great advice. Yes, it's so important to pace yourself, though not always easy! I tend to 'bite off more than I can chew' and regret it later. But I find if every evening, I write out a 'wish list' of what I hope to accomplish the next day, or even for the week, it makes it easier to pace myself the next day.
This really has helped me, and it feels good to cross things off the list. But don't beat yourself up if you don't accomplish what you had hoped--fibro really can make you too tired and too sore to do too much.
I found that after a while, I could (at times) go through my list a little quicker. Sometimes, on "good" days, I can even do a little more. And if I happen to be in a bad flare, I just do what I can (just the "basics") and try to alternate sitting with standing.
In any event, yes, keep moving. I used to lie in bed in the morning an extra 15 minutes or so, but no more, or I get a very stiff back and legs. Now I get up at about 5:10 A.M., eat breakfast, feed my cats, do a couple of little clean-up jobs in the kitchen, brush my teeth, make tea, then sometimes if I am too sleepy, I'll lie back down for about 15 minutes. It often gives me somewhat of a second wind.
Sometimes after lunch, I sit and read for 10 minutes or so, or if I feel more tired, I do lie down, but I try hard not to sleep! It does seem to help me get a little more energy.
And it's so true: Have a regular bedtime. I am usually in bed by 9:10, at the latest, except for a little later on weekends. I found a consistent bedtime helps me get better sleep and I feel so much better the next day.
Keep posting and you might even want to look up some topics relating to fibro in the search box.
Again, welcome, and wish you the best!
