Teeth decay since Fibro symptoms?

Hi everyone. I have always taken good care of my teeth. The first time I had bad problems with them was with my first pregnancy. It only got worse with my twin's pregnancy!

By the time I was having Fibro symptoms my teeth were soft,stained, and breaking. It's painful, ugly, and extremely depressing. I know all the infections in my mouth can't be good for me! I often wonder how much it effects the rest of my health.

I am curious to see how many other people have noticed a significant change in the health of your teeth since Fibro symptoms started?

I use to have a great smile but now I do the closed mouth thing and it looks stupid. Oh yay...one more thing to feel bad about!

Does anybody else relate or strongly believe this to be true for themselves as well?

(Btw, trying a new color for fun. Bear with me please.)

Well I don't see any color changes at all. Oh well.

I forgot to mention that I also have gotten canker sores for the first time ever in my life. They are extremely painful on the sides of my tongue! Thank goodness for the generic orajel at the dollar store!!!!

never had that

but im cpap so i use bioteen you might want to try it

teeth and gums can dry out from cpap meds and other things bioteen and other brands put the moister back in and prevent this

and bad teeth can cause more pain depending on how bad bad infections sores etc

if you can see a dentist if you cant afford on disability etc

free clinics in some city's states have free dental

i recommend googling your area even if you have to travel its worth the gas to get relief and help

i have also emailed called begged regular small dental business 15 or so years then got pain

one small one looked and exrayed nothing else but was good to know my gums and teeth are good except one needs a canal done

i travel out of state for most my medical my state my area eather refuse me or wont give right meds

I believe the teeth are a reflection of the health of the body. I had good dental care. 10 root canals and a number of mercury fillings so I could save my teeth. I brush my teeth everyday but it didn't help. Had to get most of my teeth removed because they were making me sick. Don't expect the dentist to save your teeth. You have to do it by what you put in your body. Too many soda's and too much sugar ruined my teeth. I have seven left and plan on keeping them. I use Oil Pulling to keep the bacteria out of mouth. I also use Oil of Oregano to keep the bacteria away. I mainly eat an alkaline diet because acid is what destroys the teeth. Not sure what your diet is but that is the key to good dental health.

It doesn't surprise me that I have teeth problem. I am one of those fibromites that crave sugar. I just had 3 cavities fillled and one pulled because it cracked. I was so thankful for mercey dentistry! They came to Anchorage and I got thousands of dollars free. Their comming to another city a few hrs. away next year. I might see what else I need done.

My Mother had six children. She had to have her upper teeth removed because they were so bad. Her Doctor suggested that it was because the babies were using up her calcium. It is possible, calcium is stored in your teeth and bones.

I have had canker sores forever. I use salt and any of the products at the Drug Store to ease pain. One Doctor said it is due to acidity.

Hmm....I've never thought about that, Dawn. But now that you mentioned it, I have never had more dental procedures of various kinds done except in about the last 12 years or so. And, I always seem to need fillings replaced, and last visit the dentist showed me an area that I'm supposed to watch closely, since it's slowly eroding.

As a child, I hardly ever had to have dental work done. And I know I cared less about my teeth back then, and also had more sugar.

That's really interesting! It would be fun to research to compare to others.

I don't have problems with my teeth. I do have seven crowns but these resulted from large cavities that occurred when I was wearing braces. After the years passed, the teeth were like shells so I had the crowns done. Now I don't have problems.

Do you bring your teeth at night? Many with fibro have TMJ. Could that possibly weaken your teeth and leave them open to decay? You might want to google that. I'm just guessing here.

I hope you can stop this problem and hang on to your own teeth. I use a Sonicare toothbrush and it's excellent at keeping the teeth extremely clean

I've not run across anything about increased teeth decay and Fibro. However, there are nutrient deficiencies and other issues that could cause both tooth decay and Fibro-like symptoms. Have you had your blood tested to make sure that your levels are all good, and that there aren't other issues that might be causing your symptoms?
