Today I got to sub in a school library for half a day. It's my favorite assignment, and it doesn't come along very often. It was also in a really nice school, one I was an aide in for a short time years ago. You can tell a lot about
a school by the feeling you get just walking through the halls. Here, people are friendly and work together....I also saw several people I know. That's always nice.
So what did I get to do for most of the time? Read. Just read to the kids.....ahh! I love it. Got to read, "The Rainbow Fish," (which I think we still own), "Tacky the Penguin," "Amazing Grace," and something else which of course I can't remember. Really good books. The kids were receptive and well-behaved.
No major discipline problems, no idiotic curriculum to try to get through, no complicated lesson plans to try to decipher. If only every day could be like this, I could do it more often! I actually had some energy left when I got home.
I'm very thankful for days like today!
