There is a post all about it in Fibro 101. I get mine at Puritan.com and it only says malic acid on the label but if you read the label further, which the site lets you do, there is magnesium malate in it, too...a very absorbably form of magnesium.
Many are deficient in vitamin D3, too, and that can cause pain and fatigue. Also, the Curamin I take has four different herbs that work together and it has won awards for pain relief in the alternative field of medicine. My rheumy knew all about it, too!
You just have to keep searching and see what works for you. I know it's a pain but that's the way it is. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. As I said before, I'm having a good life without all the prescription medications. I used to only take things like that but I kept getting more illnesses and more prescriptions were shoved at me. So I started looking around and found some alternative things to help me whenever possible. I still have some prescriptions that I have to take...for diabetes and glaucoma....but I'm taking far more supplements than prescriptions and I'm thankful for that.
BUT, some fibromites do need to take prescription meds! No one should feel badly or like a "failure" if they need prescriptions and narcotics. We are not all alike and we have to find what will help us live our lives to the fullest with the least side effects.
