Leapyear, we hear a lot about the burning feeling in the muscles. I have had it a few times but I get the feeling of water running down my leg or cold spots that feel like I sat in a puddle of water. Of course I'm perfectly dry. Go figure!
Delee, I'm so sorry for your loss. That is horrible and most definitely can affect fibro. I never suffered from fibro fog until my husband died suddenly. It kicked in big time and I truly thought I had Alzheimer's because I was forgetting whole conversations. Our bodies do react to shock...even healthy people...so this should explain a lot to what is going on with you. But we can heal, too! Stick with us and you will get a lot of help.
I suffered from anxiety when I was young and of course was given Valium. I took it for a year and it was changing my personality. I decided no more Valium, used deep breathing exercises breathing into cupped hands if I started to hyperventilate, and used Lamaze breathing also. I also used the scripture that I have in my signature. Prayer, which is like meditation to others, helps me a lot Once I realized that anxiety was fear I could kick it to the curb.
It does try to raise it's ugly head from time to time but I recognize it now and don't think I'm dying. I keep a positive attitude, start focusing on something else, and it leaves. With anxiety pretty much gone, that reduces stress which, in turn, helps reduce pain.
