As an actor with FMS, I can commiserate. Perhaps I ought to say former actor, as I have not been onstage for 5 years, though I have directed often.
Perhaps cymbalta isn't the right med for your son. It works for some, and not for others. Or there are horrid side effects. Or the side effects outweigh the good it does. Many people have to try several different drugs before they find a regimen that works.
I tended to wander onstage, which is why I stopped. Not physically move, just mentally get distracted, and come back with everyone looking at me, waiting for a line. I found the work very mentally stimulating and energizing, but that I could not perform to my standards.
School and life can be managed, really. It just takes some time to figure out what's what.
