I haven't been on in awhile. First let me say hope everyone is feeling well despite the weather or at least hanging in there.

I was in a car accident on the 20th of February. I just went back to work yesterday and I feel worse then I felt after my accident. I rolled my vehicle twice (not my fault I hit ice) I blacked out and don't completely remember the accident the points I remember clearly are the beginning and end. Anyway, this probably sounds really dumb because my specialist who treats my fibro cleared me to return to work. But the pain I am having doesn't seem to be exactly like the pain i have fibro. I guess i am just curious is this just my body's reaction to the whole trauma. i had a concussion so i see the neurologist later today just don't know if i need to mention this to him or if its more related to my fibro. I bet it is a bit of both. Your body probably strained some muscles. And I think that the fibro probably makes the pain feel worse. I pulled a muscle in my back a month or more ago. It is still on fire all the time. Plus it seems to make the costo that I get worse. Aching front and back... I keep trying to stretch that muscle through out the day.

I am sorry you were in an accident like that. You will probably experience all kinds of pains from it for awhile. And the fibro will probably intensify it. Just because it wasn't that long ago. I wish you the best. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Karen I truly appreciate the support. I started having a meltdown just a bit ago because I hurt so bad and can't seem to get comfortable I had to take a break and just recollect myself.

I'm so sorry to hear that happened. I think it may be a bit of both too. It's a very stressful experience which may be aggravating your fibro worse than usual. I'd mention it to your doctor and try to use a heating pad on sore spots. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you TiredArtist. I have another question to add in here. Has or does anyone feel like they are crawling in their own skin from nerves, pain, or a combination of both?

Heathera - sorry to hear about the accident. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I have the issue you mentioned above. It's been better since I took Lyrica, but it still occurs. it often happens with Fibro. We can get over sensitized or even get weird sensations.

One question - have you looked at CRPS? It's another centralized nervous system condition that happens frequently after trauma. That is how I started with it. Just a suggestion. If you want to look it up, the full name is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

Sorry to hear about your accident..i am sure it was stressful and also stressful to try and get back to work after..

Are you treating your pain some way? Hope you do tell your neurologist all about it..maybe they can recommend ways to help you..

A lot of people talk about that skin crawling sensation with fibro..

During flares our symptoms can change so much.

I sure hope each day gets better for you, is your work very physical.?

I don't know about skin crawling. I've always been curious about that symptom. Beside the general 'skincrawl' what does it actually feel like? And this is actually one I would share with the neuro just in case.
