Hi Michelle: I haven't posted for a while, due to being busy with other things and previously having big computer issues, but have occasionally been 'lurking' and I read your post.
I have had something somewhat similar, though not quite that long. In late January I started feeling like I had a flu bug. I was very 'wimpy' feeling, achy all over, digestion was 'off'--was not even hungry at times (very unusual for me!), had sinus issues, no ambition, headaches; just a run-down feeling in general. I felt shivery and like I had a fever, though the thermometer only showed the slightest increase in temp. This lasted for weeks. In fact, only now am I starting to feel 'human' again.
One thing I've noticed over the years is that for whatever reason, I'm always worse towards the end of winter. Why? I have no idea, but it's like clockwork for me. Speculating, I wonder if by this time of year, my body is just plain tired of dealing with the flares I get in the cold weater (live in the Midwest and it's frigid), being in the house more and not getting fresh air, perhaps some sort of flu bug making its way around, and maybe just being tired of dealing with all the issues of winter in general (the 'winter blahs').
Whatever it is, it's always, always worse this time of year. I sometimes even get some sort of temporary asthma-like breathing condition, which I've had checked numerous times and has stumped the doctor. So far this year that hasn't happened, which is a huge relief!
It seems to be a combination of a sort of 'stuck' fibro flare and a flu-like feeling. Some days, I think I could have slept til noon. I did get up at regular time, but after an hour or so, I went back to bed for 20 minutes or so. I have to say that being lazy paid off, it seems. I just did less in general and let my body be more wimpy for a while. I know not everyone can do that, but it did seem to be what my body needed. I also avoided sugar, took garlic (not for everyone, I know!), did nasal rinses and inhaled hot steam, since my sinuses were so troublesome. It's been a real 'ride,' but so far, seems to be paying off, and I'm finally feeling more human again, little by little.
As someone else posted here, don't hesitate to see a doctor if it continues. I wanted to try my usual home remedies, since I've had this pop up other winters, and it seemed to pay off. I hope you're better soon!!
Hope, too, that all my fibro friends here are feeling well!!
Isn't it great to see Spring just around the corner? I'm looking forward to those beautiful colors outside, as I'm tired of browns, tans, and black every time I look out the window. The bluejays and cardinals help with that, though.
Now, for a robin......followed by an oriole and hummingbird.....
