Hi Ia lady:
It won't hurt to have a sleep study done. Many people with Fibromyalgia have sleep problems. I have been to a sleep lab. I slept for about 3 hours. I could not sleep with all the wires and had an A/C blowing in my head. When I finally gave up trying to sleep I told the staff and they said it was almost time to get up.
The Doctor told me I do stop breathing some but did not yet need a machine. He said that sleeping pills would make my situation worse. Another Doctor suggested I try melatonin and 5 HTP. I stopped these both as I was put on Nortriptyline again, it gives me a deeper sleep. I had no problems with melatonin and no withdrawal coming off. I do get a better sleep with Nortriptyline. I actually thought 5 HTP was helping some with pain but nothing has stopped my pain totally.
I, too, have sinus issues. I hate when I feel mucous congestion when I am trying to go to sleep. I had a CT scan on my sinuses also. I have a slightly deviated septum which the ENT did not share. He could find no reason for me washing out green mucous with blood attached. I use Neil Med or an allergy wash from the pharmacy.
Good luck to you.
