I was told that I may have an autoimmune disease had my first doctors visit yesterday. My G.P thinks it may be fibro I am unsure I am achy like I have the flu all the time and so tired all the time. I'm curious about the tigger points and the test, she the rheumatologist kind of touched me in a few spots and asked if hurt or was tender but that day I was still under effects of muscle relaxer and it just happened to be one of my few good days could that have been the test???? I've been in pain for years now I am just ready for some help

I have fibro and have zero "tender points", well my elbow joints hurt to the touch but docs never check there. They are always poking around my shoulders and chest. Anyway, most don't believe I have fibro, but the current material does not require tender points. My Primary humors me, though, and I do well with Lyrica and Tramadol and use Melatonin for sleeping.

I've had my trigger points touched and experienced no pain until a few hours or a day or so later. Other times its instant. Check out the Fibro101 thread in this forum to compare your symptoms. I hope you figure out what's going on and feel better soon.

Yes, that was the test. It is really subjective. While all my points are tender I only flare in upper body. I have other issues of fibro as well. The tigger point should not be the only clue, all your other symptoms point to something going on. Keep advocating for yourself, get second and third opinion and check out the resources here. Might be Lyme or something else hidden. You know your body and it is telling you something is different.

Fibro is not considered an autoimmune disease. But it can still be a bear..: )

Takes a while to figure out what helps each of us the most, kinda trial and error

Thanks for all the info guys, whatever this is it is a bear I have no energy and my good days appear to be a thing of the past but I have noticed something weird after an injection or shot my body hurts all over I had epidural for back and cortisone for knee and my body felt as if someone hit me with a truck later that day. Sometimes Even after I have blood taken?????

Some people with fibro react very oddly to a lot of things. Some cannot even stand to be hugged.

And it waxes and wanes... Something that does not bother us on a good day , can make us bonkers on a bad day.

Have they checked your vit d? I ask almost everyone, cause i coped decently with fibro until my d got low...and that was very bad !!!

Much more pain and fatigue...

Yes they checked vit.d levels and they were extremely low. I would give anything just to have energy again. has anyone found anything to give them energy I've tried b12 shots etc and nothing
