Biking easier than walking

I am wondering if I am the only one who finds biking so much easier than walking. Walking exhausts me and my legs feel like they are going to fall off. When I bike it is like having wings. People think because I can bike that I should be able to walk with the same ease. I cannot.

I used to love to bike, but now my muscles just get too tight and tend to cramp. I blame this not so much on fibro as my neuro 'stuff' I have going on. My neurologist said my muscle tone is 'so good that it's almost TOO good!'

I'm glad the biking is working for you! It's unfortunate those who don't have fibro have little idea what all we deal with.

Yep. Also, an elliptical is easier for me than a treadmill.

Usually when biking I have to stop because my back hurts,my fanny hurts, or my hands are tingly.

I love biking. I try to ride 4 or 5 times a week.
Myself, do you wear padded shorts? I have to and also a very padded seat on the bike.
I have had a bike my entire adult life. When I ride I feel like a kid again.
It is easier than walking now because of my arthritis in the knees.

Puppy--I wish I did. It's on my list, but I refuse to spend big money for them. I do have padded gloves, and they help. I have a light Trek. We go out at least once a week, given the weather.

We are actually headed out this weekend for a cabin, biking and hiking.

I do have a pair of padded shorts I wear sometimes. My seat is a large, broad and well padded seat.

When I walk it is so difficult finding the right shoe and the best surface and then there is no guarantee how long I can last. It is not enjoyable.

I thought it was just me. So glad to realize there are a few who find biking easier and many who find walking difficult.

I wear out more easily walking. I can go about an hour before my body tells me off. I also have to tape my toes to keep them from blistering. It's weird--paper tape around each one. I broke a toe badly twice--the same toe, and wore too many high heels in my mis-spent youth.

I was out biking earlier this spring, and ran into trouble. A very windy day, and then lots of up and down hills. I got about 30 minutes in and had to turn around. I couldn't manage wind AND hills. Odd.

For me its much easier than walking and a lot more fun. my husband just got me padded shorts and they help so much. We also have treks myself. Headed on a bike camping trip tomorrow at the beach. I was having bad sciatic pain for about a month and a friend loaned us this stand that we hook up to my bike to make it stionary so I've been riding about 20 minutes every morning and iv had no sciatic pain for over a week.
