Hi Inspiration:
It is always best to work with your Doctors if you wish to lower medications. You can experience withdrawal symptoms. Are you menopausal and dealing with hot flashes or is there something else wrong? I did experience moments of increased body temperature when I had a bad infection.
I am well past menopause but am using a small dose of HRT. For me I never had the hot flashes that come with menopause. I would get a little bit of heat come over me around 10:00 each night. When I began the HRT my walls were quite thinning. I was finding sleep to be very hard as I could not shut my mind down. Not sure if that was a menopausal issue.
I have chronic headaches but not sure that menopause or Fibromyalgia are the cause of it. One of my Doctors recently referred to my condition as a complex regional pain syndrome. It was a Neurologist who really didn't diagnose Fibromyalgia but said I would hear it from other Doctors. I am no longer seeing that Neurologist.
I had 2 migraines in my life, with aura. The headaches I have now are not the same. I think mine fit more in the cervicogenic type of headaches. I am seeing a Doctor who runs a Headache and Pain Relief Centre (not in the US). I just want to mention that my Husband and I had a car accident last summer. It really set me back and I felt that my over 10 years of Physiotherapy has been destroyed. X-rays of my neck show that it is straightening. The Osteoarthritis in my neck is still deemed as mild but my headaches are not mild. I stopped taking Arthritis Tylenol due to rebound headaches. Any med has the potential to cause rebound headaches. I have no suggestions on what to do or what to take. I've had to use some Tramadol but it is not being prescribed on a regular basis.
It is always good to discuss new symptoms with your Doctors. I hope you find some ways to control the hot flashes.
