Side effects of meds, or just getting old?

I started Cymbalta a few months ago, and it works wonders. I noticed over the past few months that I perspire horribly, even when indoors. I have NEVER had this issue before. It is driving me CRAZY. When I say horribly, I mean a 3 year old in the church nursery hugged my neck and said "Ms. Tammy, you took a bath." My clothes are soaked. My hair is soaked. Sweat POURS down my neck. I helped chaperone a youth disability summit last weekend, and it became a joke it was so bad. Yes, I am at the age that it could be menopause. It is really getting bad. I have a check up soon, and I will make sure to ask. Have any of you had issues with this type of side affect?

Have not tried that med, but this sounds familiar..as though others may have mentioned it as a side effect?

I have the same issue!! Clothes drenched in sweat even in a cold room. On 90mg cymbalta. Dr doesn't know what is going on. See rheumy on Tuesday. Glad I'm not losing my mind.

I did that with Flexaril.

Keep in mind, when we're experiencing possible side effects from a medication it would be a good idea to check websites like Drugs.com for side effect issues:

That's why I try to stay away from medications. I've been told I'm medication sensitive. Good luck to you.

All the drugs that treat fibro alter the central nervous system and sweating is one common outcome

Saw my rheumy Tuesday. I'm tapering off cymbalta. Not only did I have severe perspiration I also gained 10lbs in one month-while following a weight loss plan. Not too happy about that. And to top it off my vision has been very blurry. I could see better w/out contacts and w/my old old glasses. Hoping to see things improve. I want to start tapering off amitripyline too. Will wait on that for now. Hope all your problems are being addressed on cymbalta.

One of my medications went generic. It is a mood stabilizer and not used for the fibromyalgia. It stopped working when it went generic so I have had to double the dose. Now I sweat all the time. And gained three pounds. It is so frustrating to me. I hate when they change a medication when it goes generic. Something you have been taking for a long time and are use to, all a sudden it becomes different. And a different name too.

I just read AndreM's post. Makes sense. For my medication too. Plus it has been hot and will be for another day before it cools off. That doesn't help.

I hate when sweat runs down my body. Feels freaky.

I hope you all get some resolve soon. And yes, it is nice to know none of us are going crazy. Seems to be a common side effect.
