Hi All,
I've been working though my fibro this year and actually thought I was somewhat "cured" there for awhile and wanted to relay my story. I've seen lots of posts about fibro/CFS maybe being related to viral activity and my recent experience would indicate that is true.
In February I got the flu TWICE, two weeks apart. I did some traveling for work and really couldn't believe it, and I thought it was a "bad flare", but they weren't. So, actually had the flu bad for two out of four weeks. The amazing part is that after that, my symptoms decreased by 80% and stayed there! I thought it was the fact that I used Nyquil for sleep instead of my usual xanax, but over the months since then, it's clear (after going off xanax for over six weeks), it wasn't the xanax, but the fact that I had the severe flu that "cured" me for a few months. Heck, I even went skiiing with no issues!
Anyone else have any similar experiences. My next Dr visit I will be going after the anti-viral route to see why the Drs might offer up for meds for that.
I'll continue my experiment this winter by trying to get the flu whenever possible.
Thanks for listening.
