I was reading an old thread about left armpit pain and burning. It was reassuring that I wasn't alone in this then there weren't any more post about it. I wonder if these ladies are still out there posting about it. It is only the left side, the right side has nothing. I have seen costochondritis, fibro. Just want to know I'm not alone here!

I get pain there every once and awhile. I just take pain medication and use heat. Not sure what's the cause.

Do you have any knots or very tender spots?

No lumps, knots, some tenderness. I had seen some others talking about injuries and I fell on the ice 2 years ago and sort of jammed my shoulder and a couple of months later the underarm thing started off and on. Now it is more of a chronic thing. I use ice and heat at different time. Ibuprofen has never put a dent in it. I get worried so when I saw these posts and see that the left arm thing is a problem for a lot of women. Just is very weird but if it isn't completely uncommon I try to calm myself down. I think underwire bras also had maybe damaged or inflamed a nerve.

You might have trigger points that are causing the pain. Lots of times pain is referred pain. If I get pain in my side the trigger points for that are in my back! I had a frozen shoulder and fixed it with trigger point therapy I did myself. I bought The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook on Amazon and looked up shoulder areas and discovered the trigger points were not only on my shoulder but also my chest wall and my neck.

Trigger points are usually tender when you find them. You can press on them as hard as you can stand and then massage the area, repeat and then stop for a few hours. I did this when I was watching TV and before I knew it I could raise my arm just fine.

Trigger point therapy does work and this workbook has diagrams to show you exactly where to look for possible trigger points for the pain you are having. This is just a suggestion but might be worth a shot.

I just wanted to let anyone know who may have not reviewed the old thread, I posted that years ago I had underarm pain and discovered I'm sensitive to certain deodorants.

Making sure I wash my deodorant off every night and using the right deodorant helped my issue. It would be nice if all of my issues were that easy.

At this point I'll try anything. I know I had used trigger point a few years ago for my bad back. Thought I would faint when my husband pressed on the spot on the back of my neck. I guess he didn't do it right because it got much worse and had to go to the chiro! Last night was bad, don't know if it's because I have a bad cold and was up coughing but slept with the heating pad under my arm.

I started having mostly left underarm pain. I'm thinking it's either a neck muscle/nerve problem, or maybe has something to do with the esophagus/stomach irritation? I haven't used deodorant for about 45 years....and would never use one with antiperspirant in it.

If deodorant is a culprit, then why are these things only a problem with the left arm? It just makes me nervous and then panic attacks about it don't make it better. That's why when I found the old forum I felt a little bit more relaxed. Only problem being that nobodies Dr. really can put a name to this.

Hi: It seems I can get pain just about anywhere, including around my arm pits.

Did you check it out with your doctor? It's often a good way to get peace of mind on things you're not sure about.
