I have been "missing" for a while. (I was checking in several times a day to check for spam and answer short posts.) I was on vacation and then, when I came home, I was in a flare and laying low for a couple of weeks. Then I had yard clean up to do, like trimming rose bushes, weeding, etc.

Now, I have been Christmas shopping. Yep! Christmas shopping! I have it nearly all done. I love to go now, avoid the crowds and standing in long lines, and it takes the stress away. I will have everything wrapped, boxed, and I hope shipped by the second week in November...and that means no long lines at the post office either! Then I can settle back and enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas, make some holiday goodies to pass around to friends, and just relax and enjoy the Season. Now...THAT'S what I call pacing myself. yeah

I'll try to get on and answer more posts. This is just a busy time for me. Do try to plan ahead, also. It really does make a difference in your stress and pain. Our holidays, one right after another, can do a number on us. But with a little planning, it is the BEST time of year...just full of love and joy!

Sherrine, yes, we have missed you! So glad you're feeling better and what a smart idea to do Christmas shopping early.

We miss you when you are gone! :-) I noticed that you weren't posting much, and I was hoping it was nothing serious. Glad you took a break to do what needed to be done, but also very glad to have you back in full force. It's just not the same around here without you.

I will be having surgery week after next, so I'm planning to do most of my shopping online. If it needs to be shipped, I'll just have it direct shipped to the recipient. I love online shopping!

Thanks, ladies! Austen, I do as much as I can online, too. You get some good bargains that way. I love Amazon! LOL

I am just hoping to get started with my shopping..i cannot believe its mid october already!!!

Welcome back..

Made my first pot of soup today..i really miss my fall and winter recipes..they take more time though!

Hoping to work on fall projects this weekend. Think some of them were on the spring list , but never happened

Christmas shopping. Oh my word! I'll get started, um, around December 20 something or other. Actually I do very little since I have so little money and I'm not much into Christmas. I ain't a Scrooge though! :)

Good for you ! Vacations are good! I, for one, rarely travel at all, much less for enjoyment.

For years now I have had large cardboard box on top shelf in my room & a list on my phone. List has grandkids' wish list with dates that I buy the item. Items go in large box (With bed linens sticking out the top) Rarely go shopping so i try to buy a couple of items off the list Each time.

Considering setting up home grocery delivery. Too often my pantry is bare..
AustenFan I very rarely order online but it is looking more & more like a good idea.

Glad you got a vacation in, Sherrine, but sorry a flare followed. :( Hope things are better now.

Yes--this is definitely the time of year to start planning for the holidays; they'll be here before we know it!

Today, I ran off some copies of some Christmas poems and writings that I'll include with my Christmas cards. And speaking of Christmas cards, this is the year I promised myself I'll cut back. I enjoy sending cards, but with the cost of postage (and the time spend writing out cards), there has to be a limit.

I'm probably about half done with my Christmas shopping. Am trying to do a little each week. I start writing my Christmas card November 1, and do a little each day.

Yep. Pacing is wonderful. It can sure save us sometimes! And it's something I have to remind myself about constantly......but little by little, I'll get there. :)

Glad you are out of your flare Sherrine. With more than one chronic disease, it sure can be tough!

You have to do everything ahead b/c you never know when you might get caught and don't feel like doing a thing!

Glad to see you back! I took just a very short vacation over the weekend and that sent me into a flare as well. I took Monday and Tuesday off work and came back today. I need to get started on my shopping as well. Hope everyone has a great week!!
