I would appreciate your advice. I came to appreciate the prostate cancer section of this forum a few weeks ago as I was diagnosed with prostate cancer - a real bummer. I have also posted this thread in the Lyme section, but wanted to point this out to all fibro sufferers.
Anyway, two months after the biopsy I came down with a prostate infection and was initially prescribed the antibiotic ofloxacin and after the lab reports came back was switched to amoxicillin - and after three days of taking this I feel 20 years younger and no longer have joint and muscle pain. This has marred the past twenty years of my life and it was actually diagnosed as fibromyalgia. I have tried numerous medications, cannabis, acupuncture, diet changes etc - all to no avail.
I had suspected Lyme many times as I have had more than 30 tic bites while living in Germany. I seem to attract these critters and have had to remove hundreds of them over the past 30 years or so before they got a chance to sink their jaws into my skin. I once got off a bicycle in a German forest and found 18 tics on my legs a few minutes later.
Naturally, I have tried numerous times to get a Lyme confirmation from physicians and was not taken seriously. I tried 90 days of some antibiotic while living in New Zealand a few years ago, which had no effect. Lyme is virtually unknown there despite millions of sheep.
So, now I take this amoxicillin for my prostate and UTI and feel great.
Do you think that it may well be Lyme and, if so, that I could feel the effects after a few days?
I appreciate your comments
