Tramadol advice

Hi everyone,
I'm interested to hear if tramadol has worked for you, especially in addition to Gabapentin. I am currently taking 600mg of Gabapentin a day and while it helps with most of my nerve pain, my joint and muscle pain is still quite unbearable. I was also prescribed Flexeril but it makes me super tired and knocks me out for a full day.
I have read online that tramadol has helped with fibromyalgia, as well as depression and anxiety which I suffer from both. I notice that my pain is heightened greatly when stress and anxiety come into play.
I'd love to hear if tramadol has worked for you. I have a doctors appointment next week and would like to bring this up as an option for me if others feel it really does help.

I am not sure but think gaba and tramadol, may be from the same group of meds...so i think it may be one or the other..from those two..however he may be able to recommend something else , if the flexerill is not working for you.

Its really hard to find the right balance of meds ..but hopefully your doc will work with you to find that balance..we are all so different with what helps and what does not.

I get about 50 percent relief from my doc, and 50 from ways i have learned to self help..it takes a while to get it figured out..then at times flares come and upset the balance again..

So it may be handy to know how you can step up during a flare and back down when it passes...

I used to take tramadol and gabapentin, but I found out there's a risk of them causing serotonin syndrome together.
So I stopped the tramadol and just take paxil for my anxiety and depression. I also upped my gabapentin some.

Tramadol does not cause serotonin syndrome - it is highly addictive though and over time will cause more pain as it sensitizes pain receptors

According to Tramadol's own site, it can cause serotonin syndrome. Taken by itself the risk is not high, but people should be cautious when taking it with other drugs...like benzos or antidepressants.

Lets face it, any medication can be an issue to someone..so we have to be as informed as possible.

So far i have to take it in low dosage..to keep moving..

I take low dose as needed. Usually I take in the middle of the night. Then I do not have so much pain when I wake up.

I take Tramadol 100mg in the evening. It really helps with the the pain. I'm not on Gabapentin, just started Lyrica a few weeks ago. So far no problems. I'm not seeing any benefit from the Lyrica yet, but I started low and have been increasing the dose weekly. Lyrica and Gabapentin are similar drugs. I have wondered about what it will be like to withdraw from the Tramadol. I went through withdrawals from Fentanyl. Not fun, but I made it.

I take one tramadol every morning, then a cymbalta (30 mg) at night. Seems to help... some. I've been on this routine about a year and half now.

Tramadol helps me on my mild to moderate pain days and also seems to raise my energy level a bit. I take it along with an antidepressant and luckily haven't had any problems with seratonin syndrome, I've been taking both for a couple of years now.

I use Tramidol in the morning and at night. Cymbalta in the morning and flexeral at night to loosen the mustles. I've been on this for sometime. This works fairly well for me. Mind you. If I get stressed out or go into a flare this does not work and need additional help.

I am on tramadol slow release x 3 100mg per day and have increased cymbalta to 60 mg. Over the weekend i felt as if i was beginning to get serotonin syndrome so reduced my night tramadol. Tramadol for me has been the difference between having quality of life. It gave me more energy during periods of fatigue and though it doesnt get rid of pain, it makes it manageable.
