Cymbalta and Savella

Hi everyone,
I've been taking 120mg of Cymbalta for my Fibro pain and depression, for about 5 or 6 years now. I'm at the max dose and I'm far from getting enough relief from the pain, etc.
Anyone take both Cymbalta and Savella together?
Anyone on a higher dose of Cymbalta than 120mg?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

My doctor has told me that SNRI drugs like these can stop working for you after awhile. They actually have a term for it, "poop out syndrome." I have had it happen to me on both drugs. Savella worked for me for almost 2 years, then "pooped out." Then I was on Cymbalta for about the same amount of time. Sometimes you need to cycle between a few different meds, according to my doc. Right now I am on fluoxetine (prozac) as the SSRI and tramadol at night for pain relief, sometimes along with a muscle relaxer.

Thank you for your reply, Heart. I appreciate it. I was wondering if maybe the Cymbalta wasn't working as well anymore. It's been a life saving med for me. I will ask my doctor about trying Savella.

Don't try to go off without the doctor being involved. You have to taper off this kind of drug very slowly. Let me know how it goes, Ginny.
