Fever Blisters Inside Nose?

I ended up going to Urgent Care today, because I woke up with a very severe headache. Earlier this week, I noticed what looked like an ulcer inside my nose (on the septum) but didn't think much of it. After going to Urgent Care and having the doctor look in my nose, she said mentioned how painful it looked in there! She said I had fever blisters (herpes simplex virus type 1) all in my nasal cavity. Apparently they were probably causing my headache. I took some Tylenol and it helped my headache, but I don't feel very well...just a sick feeling. I don't get cold sores and have been home all week. I have no idea how I got these in my nose. Has anyone ever experienced fever blisters in their nose?

Slee, that does sound painful. Do you think you should see an ear, nose, and throat doctor for a follow-up and further testing?

Years ago, I went to an ear, nose, and throat doctor and was told I have a deviated septum which had to be operated on. I had the operation and felt as if I was put on oxygen.

My husband went to an ENT recently and he was told he had an infection going on in his nose. All taken care of.

You never know what they might find.

From what I have been told, you can get Herpes Simplex Virus in any mucous membrane. I have had it on the back of my throat.

Slee: A few months ago I had nose surgery because I was having problems breathing. It went fairly well, but now have another nose infection, blisters in one nostril. I have an appointment in a week in the meantime Dr. has advised me to use a Q-Tip with triple antibiotic OTC in my nostrils, it feels better and since I keep it on hand it was no problem I use the generic brand but if you prefer use Neosporin it is just as effective for me.
