SoSt9, I'm so happy this has helped you, too!  It's hard to talk, smile, or eat with sores in your mouth.  I'm glad yours cleared up.

 

Chris, do you really need that tooth pulled?  Can't you get a crown?  That's what I always do.  I also have all four of my wisdom teeth.  One became abcessed and the dentist wanted to pull it.  NO WAY!  I told him I have spent my life trying to preserve my teeth and I'm not stopping now.  I had a root canal and a crown and that tooth is perfect.  If I had teeth pulled, then I would need a bridge or something to keep my teeth from shifting, too.  I have more crowns than Queen Elizabeth but I still have all my teeth.   yeah   I know I would get a second opinion if I were you.  You are a young man and hopefully you don't need the tooth pulled.

I have had some of the tongue sores come back. They are still in their early stages, but they started when (two nights ago) I had a blood blister on my inside cheek. For those who have done the alcohol trick, and who it has helped, does it come back within just under two weeks? I did another swish tonight, so hopefully I will have similar results.

My doctor told me to swish with salt water and make sure to brush my teeth twice a day.

So glad I found this group. I had a horrible day last Friday at work, hit with a grossly unfair disciplinary at work which showed up zero support for a deaf and physically disabled employee - me- and Saturday erupted in the worst ever mouth and tongue ulcers plus total exhaustion I've ever had in my life. Union supporting me and they've flagged up serious issues with lack of support. I can't take time off sick as teaching exam classes! Will try rum but only a little as driving in the morning. Pretty desperate as mouth hurts so much!
Got bad fibromyalgia, IBS and bladder problems, depression bad at the mo, RA, Tinnitus, profoundly Deaf, multiple allergies, hiatus hernia, allergic gastritis and allergic arthritis, neuralgia parathesia nerve damage both legs, chronic bursitis in hips and shoulders, bronchiectasis and non smoking lung cancer survivor and still managing to teach part time!

Don't drink the rum just swish it around and spit it out.

Hi, and welcome! Joy is correct. Just swish the rum around and then spit it out. It will burn like the dickens the first time but only for about a minute. The second time will be better. My family has done this for years and several people on this forum have tried it and it worked for them too. Do let us know how it works for you.

I know my mouth sores were from the celiac disease..now that that is under control, I am noticing more tender mouth than anything, but from what you guys are saying, it is fairly normal :(

Hi, Erma Bombeck, my sister gets these little white blisters on the palms of her hands. They generally worsen in the summer. Twelve years ago, long before she was diagnosed with Fibro, a doctor told her they are because her palms no longer sweat. Check and see if your skin spots on your hands get worse in the summer. Even if it isn't the same thing, the weather changes can affect and irritate already established skin problems. But at least it is something to ask your dr about. Ask him if it that your palms have stopped being able to sweat.
