Fibromyalgia and Lyme Disease

Lyme disease has been implicated as being a cause of Fibromyalgia. Lyme is in my blood and it may be in yours. The Canadian Blood Services Agency does absolutely no testing of donor blood when they take donated blood from the public. This has to stop. We need every vial of donor blood tested for Lyme.

Most of us have been checked for Lyme disease. I do not have Lyme but I do have fibromyalgia.

John, as you know, Fibro and Lyme are two separate illnesses. One doesn't cause another. The treatments for these illnesses are completely different also. You can have both illnesses at the same time though, just like you can have lupus and Fibro. I developed Fibro long before I ever had a blood transfusion and most of our members have never had a blood transfusion but yet they still have Fibro.

Unfortunately, some Lyme members think that Lyme is causing everyone's illness and will post in many forums. We have had problems in the past with this. They should be staying in their own forum. If members feel they might have had a tick bite and might have Lyme, our Lyme forum is terrific and can answer any questions.
