Still Undiagnosed

My PCP thinks I might have Fibromyalgia. She did blood work - Sed rate, Rheumatoid Factor, ANA and CBC. All came back normal. She also ordered x-rays of my hands because I have stiffness and joint pain and those were also normal. Now I'm waiting to see a rheumatologist but I won't get in until late May.

What is everyone's experience with a Rheumatologist? Is there any other testing I should ask my PCP for to try to rule out Fibromyalgia?

My current symptoms: Fatigue, Extreme pain and stiffness when I wake up in the morning, joint pain in my hands, shoulders, knees, hips and pelvis. Memory problems (feel like I'm getting early onset dementia). I get what I call "all over body headaches" especially if I eat foods that I'm sensitive to like gluten. I just feel crappy. :-(

I have to take a anti inflammatory to keep moving..blood work shows no inflammation but physical therapist says it at the nerve level so does not show in blood work.

They treat the symptoms which helps

Do you have tender points? That's all my rheumy cares about. No tender points for me, so we don't see each other anymore... Luckily my PCP is good and we work together to figure what's best for my symptoms.

The rheumatologist didn't check for tender points. She was sure I had Ankylosing Spondylitis and ordered x-rays and more blood work. All tests came back normal and she was really surprised. She told me to take tylenol and do pool exercises. I have a follow up in 6 weeks.....not sure why. I'm making dietary changes to see if that helps my pain and fatigue. Other than that, I have no idea what to do.
