Vibration feeling?

Hello everyone.
I was wondering, does anyone experience this vibration or buzzing type?
It's not like when you're shivering or anything. Your body literally vibrates.
It's rapid and you feel like there's an earthquake.

I've been having them a lot lately and I'm worried. Called my neurologist but to him, everything is nothing to worry about. (like he doesn't understand that muscle twitches and vibrations are not normal)

Had an emg done too not long ago and my nerves and muscles are fine

Hi AnnaHashimoto... I get these vribrations too... totally like I'm sitting at my desk working an an earthquake hits.  I actually had to as a co-worker once if she felt those tremors... were we experiencing an earthquake, and I got the vacant "what are you talking about" stare.  It's very disconcerting and I've been getting it a lot lately, but not sure what it is.  It's one of the plethra of recent problems I've been having, and not the most worrisome when copmared to the others (chest pain, back shoulder bade pain, rib pain or what may be an enlarged spleen, crippling fatigue, and a B12 level that is in the toilet) so I've not really dealt with it yet.  If you get some answers, I'd love to hear about them.

Yes I get these, but normally it's at night when I am laying in the bed when I can feel it the most. My body doesn't actually move but it feels like it vibrates or either there is a small earthquake just ever so slightly vibrating the bed. I even asked my husband a few times did he feel the bed shake. I would even lay my hand on the bed to "feel" if it was shaking. Sometimes it's really annoying..lol. I told my neurologist and he said it goes along with the fibro. But boy, alot of nights I think I feel earthquakes! lol

Hi Karen,

I never had the bulls eye rash, but many with lyme, never get the rash. I for sure was bitten by a tick when I was 13 or 14 but never got the rash and went on with life. I became ill a couple of years ago and had to have my gallbladder removed. Right after my surgery, I started having crazy symptoms of vibrating/tingling/pulsating in legs, numb patches in face, feet and toes, trembling, horrible anxiety, terrible pain in feet/toes and hands, on and on. A few neuros told me this was all in my head. Finally, my GI doc suspected early onset of MS. He sends me to UCSF. They discover 20 lesions on my brain through MRI. I kid you not, the first question the neuro asked me was "have you had lyme disease". I had suspected possible lyme before but tested negative through labcorp.

Anyway, my lesions were not typical of MS lesions but they did a ton of other testing including a lyme test during my lumbar puncture...negative. Everything was negative and normal except for that MRI. So, they said, this is not MS. I went back six months later for another MRI....no changes...not MS. So, I started doing more research and being totally frustrated, I drove myself to Igenex Labs in Palo Alto and had myself tested. This is a lab that people from all over the world send their bloodwork to. Unlike Labcorp who looks for antibodies (which our bodies stop making after a while), they look for bits of DNA from the bacteria. Anyway, I tested positive for Lyme with a co-infection of erlichosis.

I found an LLMD and started ABX treatment. I have made a LOT of improvement. It's almost ten months later now...I'm still testing positive for lyme and positive for my co-infectino, but it is getting better. My symptoms have GREATLY improved. The numbness is gone as is the pain in my hands and feet. I still get the vibration and twitching when I'm herxing (when I have a die off of bacteria) but I am WAY better now than a year ago!

I have to agree with your sister...I bet you still have lyme disease. I would definitely be tested through Igenex (you will have to have a doctor sign off on blood work, but your best bet is to find an LLMD Lyme Literate Medical Doctor). I'll bet that the ABX treatment you had were not enough to completely kill all the bacteria and over the years, they are accumulating in your body. I didn't get my symptoms until after my surgery (and right after it). My doctor thinks that the surgery caused my immune system to not be able to handle the lyme disease and caused it to flair....makes perfect sense. My symptoms literally started overnight...from nothing to everything.

Karen, I would look into this. I'll bet that given your history and a known tick bite, that all your fibro symptoms are lyme related. With treatment, you could become a healthy person again. It's a long road to recovery and not an overnight fix, but you can get better. If you have any questions, let me know. The lyme forum here is very active. I'm usually over there.

Yes, Anna.  I feel like I stepped on a buzzer...for sure.  It only happens occasionally to me but it's weird.  I also will feel like water is running down my leg or that a bug is crawling on me.  This is all nerve involvement, I think.

If we're talking about a tremor type feeling in the leg, like a pulsation, I had that sensation about 3 weeks after taking gabapentin. I also came down with a burning pins and needles sensation in my feet. After going off of gabapentin now for the last week I haven't had those sensations.

I also got that buzzing feeling once but it was in my upper body. It lasted about a week and I have not gotten it since.

The way I described it was the feeling you get when your foot or arm falls asleep and the feeling when it is almost back to normal but maybe even lighter than that. It is very hard to describe to someone exactly how it feels.

I had the "earthquake feeling" in the bed for about 3 years! I would jump up, run downstairs to ask my husband if he felt it...when he was up watching late night TV. Then I would lay very still to be sure I wasn't moving somewhere to cause the bed to vibrate. VERY weird and I have heard many people discuss this the past 6 months when I got up enough nerve to mention it amongst friends. It stopped for me with the treatment of anxiety/panic disorder. I am assuming now the muscles were tremulous or fasciculating in a "fine" manner and the anti anxiety meds have settled those nerve endings. I still have large muscle twitches but those have even improved with anti anxiety medication. Goodluck...hope this helps!

oh thank goodness I thought it was only me! i vibrate head to toe, particularly bad if im overtired or angry. i dont have an fms specalist at the moment and really need to get on my gp and get it sorted. I also get the burning patches of skin and the skin tickles. i get numb attacks where my feet and hands go cold and wont move, i have to crochet constantly to keep my fingers (and brain) supple or i fog up and lock up. i admit im my own worst enemy, i try to pretend im normal and do too much. i fractured a bone in my neck in a motorbike accident in 1994, had a few years off when i was pregnant but have recently started to dip again.

Hi, I could be way off here but I thought I would share anyways.

When I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on levothyroxine , I had vibration like , skin sensations all over my body including my head. It was a weird feeling. I ended up going with the armor thyroid hormone instead. Those sensations have not been back since . Maybe you could have your thyroid checked again. I'm sorry you are dealing with that it doesn't sound fun at all.
