The FDA has updated side effects of certain antibiotics...Cipro and Levaquin are two of them. My niece was given Levaquin for a cold and ended up bedridden for about six weeks. She had to call for her mother. Who lives in Serbia, to come and help because she had a toddler and an infant at the time. She had no idea that this medication could possibly affect her muscles. Some take this medication successfully but I won't try it because of the possible muscle, tendon, and ligament problems. Here is a link about it.

There was another warning for you dog lovers out there. Some products like chewing gum, mints, and even nut butters can contain Xylitol which can poison or even kill your dog. It is a sweetener. I give my dog peanut butter at times so I checked my label and there is no xylitol in it. I use Jif. So here's a heads up!

Thanks Sherrine! My husband was given Cipro for a prostate infection and it blew out his Achilles tendon. The doctor was shocked and had never heard of this serious side effect. I believe there is now a warning in that long list of side effects that comes with the medication that reads: Not recommended for patients over the age of 60. (due to the fact that the elderly may have compromised muscles and tendons)

I found out the hard way that long term use of Nexium can cause stomach polyps.

Long term use of Prilosec caused osteoporosis for me. sad
