Hello Fibro warriors. I have been on the chronic pain group here for a few years due to spine issues and was recently diagnosed with fibro so now I'll be popping in here from time to time as well. So hello!

Hi, Sore2theCore, and welcome! This is a great forum made up of people who love to help one another. And, as a bonus, we do care about each other too so I think you will like it here.

Be sue to read Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum. There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.

How does your dr want to treat the fibro ?

I am already on medications for my spine that also are used for fibro? I am on tramadol, oxycodone, cymbalta, gabapentin, flexeril etc. Also take ibuprofen way too much lol. I take supplements, too. So medications already covered. He wants me to do pilates and physical therapy which I had to stop pt because it was causing so much pain my job was at risk. So I have to wait a bit longer to do that.

Some people say magnisium malate is helpful in fibro pain.

I'm taking magnesium caltrate right now I will switch with the next bottle. I also take fish oil, b vitamins complex, melatonin, coq10, joint one and other herbs. Tumeric, kava kava, lemon balm, etc. Holy basil, I can't think of them all right now. Haha. A lot. 💊💊💊

Oh my,

Are you on all those meds like everyday? I have a very low tolerance for meds..so i am impressed that you can get out of bed .

I have a spinal spur that occassionally bothers a nerve in my back. But a topical pain reliever soothenol x2 ...erases that pain for most of the day.

It was interesting to me that many with spinal spurs have no pain from it ?

I had a type of therapy called strain and counter strain that really helps with mechanical issues..its an extremely gentle therapy that does not add to the pain.

I get about half my help from drs .. And half from self help..so keep working on ways to relieve pain for yourself.

Stretching helps most of us , but there are many devices to help with pain also..when the barometric pressure makes my pain escalate i used a micro current device that calms me and reduces the pain..

I take them all multiple times a day...and am still working full time but barely hanging on. It is torturous but at the moment I have no other options.

They want to install an spinal cord stimulator but I have pretty bad issues in both my neck and low back...multiple herniations, stenosis, arthritis etc. Fibro, brachial Plexus Neuritis, myofascial pain syndrome, failed surgery syndrome etc. I was denied disability 3x and almost lost everything so had to go back to work.

I walk every day, about an hour in short bursts. Accupuncturw, chiro, massage, etc. Had to stop physical therapy. Trying everything I can within reason.
