Anyone use a TENS unit?

There are so many inexpensive ones out on the market. I bought one that had tons of good ratings, was FDA approved. I thought it might help with some leg pain I'm having, since the one at the physical therapist's place worked well. I haven't had it long enough to know if it helps, and the instructions aren't great.

Just curious if any of you have tried the less expensive ones. I paid under $30 for it.

I haven't used one, but I know a while back on this forum, others have mentioned them. I am interested, though!

I'll let you know Luvzminis. I've only used it twice, so I can't say yet. Would be great if it works on the pains I have. Funny.....but most of the time I'm feeling buzzing everywhere in my legs (without the TENDS), so I hope the buzzing of the TENS unit doesn't make it worse......even though it's recommended for neuropathies too. I think the important thing is learning how to place the electrodes properly. I need to really research that, since the instructions with this unit left much to be desired.

I bought a simple one at Walmart a few years ago. I think it's a Omcron?

I love it. It really eases the pains for me. It has the instructions on the box in simple terms and it can be adjusted over the area further than the ones that just attaches in one spot.

TENS , was strong for me so i use a more gentle form called MENS

It is similar but more gentle...one of the alternative drs i read, says with fibro, less is more..and for me that is very true.

Mine says to turn it just below where you feel it..

Many here use TENS, without issues i think.. So i would just set it low to begin and see how it goes. It help me particularly when i feel flared because of a weather change..

It's great therapy. I have used a Tens and loved it. Had it for 24 years. It its a large machine with plastic dials, in a plastic case. Fantastic results especially for those hard to get painful places like glutes. I like a tens that has many bigger pads and many connections, and packs a good punch on the highest levels. I need a new one. Worth the money!

I have occasionally used TENS when my back and hip pain have been really bad, and it has really helped! We have a small, portable unit that can be used even when you are up and moving around.

I am convinced now we need to get the TENS unit out again. My husband used it for awhile for the pinched nerve, and then stopped when meds helped. Now we are cutting back on meds, I need to learn about the TENS unit. I did not know my husband back when he used his. Anyone have a good link to learning about using one?

The portable one I bought has directions on the box and a leaflet in it.

I know you don't put the pads close together. They line up on the muscle. Check out anatomy drawings online to figure placement.
Plus keep away from the heart area and don't use if you have a pacemaker.
