Leg jump at rest?

I all the sudden had my right leg jerk (almost like hit with reflex hammer) last night and then had my left leg do it while laying down in bed. Has anyone experienced this? It's not painful just surprising. I googled it and started freaking out because I've dealt with other things that I've thought MS but had clear scan.

I get leg or sometimes foot 'jumps' once in a while. The neurologist said my reflexes in my legs are way too 'floppy.' In fact, when he examined my leg reflexes he said, "whoa, whoaaaaa!" LOL! They shake fairly easily, too.

I was also tested for MS (now years ago) but nothing specific showed up. Neurontin (gabapentin) helps me with strange nerve issues, sensations, etc.

Have you seen a neurologist?

My legs don't actually move, but the muscles clench and pull. It occurs mostly at night and the only things that seem to help are heat, localized massage and cranial sacral massage therapy which I have every 2 weeks. Occasionally I use my EMS for short term relief so I can get to sleep, but it doesn't last

I have been trying the homeopathic leg cramp pills from Walgreens. They seem to assist some nights better than others.

Just a few ideas .... I would love to hear if you find a solution. Between that and the dozens of tiny nodes on the sides of my legs, it makes it rough to sleep

Trigger point therapy might relax those knots.

Try pressing firmly on a knot and rub it until the knot shrinks.

I have been using that to loosen. My husband is good about helping me too, but lately it has been next to impossible to get them to release - even my physical therapist has trouble. It's weird.
