Hi Debbie: Those sleepless and almost sleepless nights can be miserable! Hope you will get a chance to (sort of) "catch up" soon. I get those nights occasionally. For some reason, I generally don't have too rough of a day, the day after, and things generally even out. But, on the other hand, an occasional bad night can result in a very muzzy-headed next morning. Grrr.
I don't know where you live, but here in the Northern Midwest, we've had lots of cool but damp days the last few weeks. Haven't had a bad flare in a long while until a few weeks back.....and it was a "doozy." Achy from head to toe, and my sinuses felt like they were flaring---all over my body. But, I did sleep like a rock!
It surely could be the barometric pressure or something like that causing your sleepless issues. It sure messes up my body, anyway! I felt like I just got over an enormous surge of adrenaline and it left me like a dishrag for a few days. Oh, the weird symptoms of fibro! I don't think it was a flu or cold, as I felt chilled, but never had a fever.
Usually, I just lie down in the afternoon about
10-15 minutes, do a little reading and a short prayer time. It keeps me going the rest of the day. But with this last bout, I'd lie down and be 'out cold' for 45 minutes! The weather is now smoothing itself out, so I'm hoping this roller coaster ride is over soon and completely gone. At least, I'm feeling much better.
Good thinking--not to overcharge when or before you go to bed. I find I can't go near a computer screen anywhere near bedtime, or even read anything that gets me thinking too much. And I totally avoid the "news" (if you can even call it that, these days!).
I sure hope this is a much better week for you, and you get some good, productive sleep. Keep us posted and take care.
