Does an EMG test hurt?

Having an EMG test tomorrow.... any advice?

I didn't think it was bad at all. The technician was so quick and the procedure itself was fast. I'd just relax and get in conversation with the technician, if possible--a good way to divert yourself!

Mine was decidedly uncomfortable. I'm not sure why it was as bad as it was but I do not ever want to do it again.

Mine sure made me jump! I'd been warned, but nothing can prepare you for that jolt.

Still, it didn't last long, and for me at least, there were no after-effects.
