Thanks Lj and Debbie for your replies.
I went to see this pain doctor yesterday and he recommended the nerve block again. I declined. I said maybe if the pain becomes unbearable in the future which I hope it never does.
Thanks to Sherrine's recommendation of buying a donut hole cushion in another thread, I looked on Amazon for one and came across a review that mentions she believed her neck support pillow was more beneficial for her tailbone pain. I recalled I had one of those. I tried it, and it's great! The pillow is very cushy. It keeps it's shape and of course it opens in the back. I can easily manipulate it--bend it to where I need the support the most so sitting doesn't hurt nearly as much.
I very much appreciate what this doctor of mine has done for me, but it's unfortunate he like some other doctors don't talk about other options other than meds or nerve blocks.
But on my prompting, from reading another post of Sherrine's about her sacroilitis, this doctor pressed on the affected areas and diagnosed me with it. He gave me an SI belt to use, one of many he had in his back room, to wear during the day.
