Tramadol users?

Recently I was prescribed a low dose of Tramadol for my pain. It worked great..........so gentle. It didn't make me high.....just made me feel like living again. (50 mg). I started at just one every other day, then I needed to go up to tevery day, and then twice a day, after a couple weeks. I'm still at a pretty low dose at 100mg/day.

I just got the Rx refilled a few days ago and it's from a different manufacturer. It doesn't seem to work. I called the pharmacist and asked if others had complained and he said yes, that they've gone back to the original one.

Unfortunately, the one that doesn't seem to work for me is the original one that they've gone back to using.

Have you ever noticed with Tramadol (or any drug), that when the pharmacy switches manufacturers, a medication that was helping you, no longer worked?
Strange how that can happen, if they're all supposed to be the same. Although I've read that the inactive ingredients can be different.
Dang.......it was sure nice feeling good for a short while. I see my doc tomorrow, so I'll ask him about this and if I can get the other manufacturer's pill.

Actually, I called the pharmacist back. I had talked to a tech, but she didn't sound too sure of herself.
Apparently, the issue with the brand I like is on back-order. It isn't that something was wrong with the med.
Funny, the pharmacist looked up what I had taken last year (which didn't help, so I quit taking it)........and it was the same stuff that isn't helping me now! I went up on the dose this time with the different brand, which is probably why it was helping me more.
Very strange. I'm having horrible pain today, even after taking 2 doses. It's almost like nothing is in it.
This was our local CVS (small town). I wonder if other CVS's might have the one that works? My insurance pretty much prefers CVS. I have no idea how much it would cost without the insurance. But if it's reasonable, it's worth the price to deal with this pain.
Curious if it IS the fillers. How strange that they could make the actual drug fairly useless to some of us!

Thanks Sherrine. Actually, I did that and found some of the older Tramadol (from another manufacturer) at another CVS. I was sooooo looking forward to some relief after taking the first one.......but it didn't work much either. So now I'm thinking something in me has changed. It's very disappointing, since it seems like if I was going to get some occasional relief it was going to be from this Tramadol. The first week and a half I took it, life was good again.........now it's awful pain 24/7. Strange how that seemed to go. But I'll keep taking it, hoping it will work.
I saw my doc and finally agreed to give Cymbalta a try. I'm starting low (20mg) and working up, since I'm so sensitive to meds. I want to talk about my severe thigh pain.....but I think I'll start a new thread on that.
