Hi Puppylover: Great to see you here again! Yes, it's been a long time. Life gets busy, right?
I'm probably not much help, but I certainly can sympathize with you regarding doctors' viewpoints. Thankfully, I had a very caring, sympathetic (family) doctor for over 29 years. I was so disappointed when I learned he was retiring, but, that's life, I guess.
I moved on to a new doctor, who was 'okay,' but not overly helpful or sympathetic. Visits were extremely short and I learned little. That got tiresome, so I moved on to a very young female doctor who is just wonderful! She's board-certified, very proactive, sympathetic to fibro, listens, and, in short "goes the extra mile." I couldn't be happier, except it's a bit of a drive to see her---but very worth it.
I guess I'm just saying that, even though it's not fun, sometimes you have to shop around a bit to find the right doctor. I once saw an internal med doctor who seemed to want the office visit to be as short as possible! He showed almost zero interest in helping me figure out some very painful flareups. One thing he did do though, on a positive note, was suggest I do more stretching. For well over a year now, I've taken that advice and do my gentle stretches faithfully. Though I was disappointed in that office visit, he did get that right!
I wish I could be more helpful. Maybe (hopefully) someone on this forum in the Fort Worth area can offer suggestions. There may be other forums on this website that may be helpful, such as the migraine headache or chronic pain forums. Perhaps you can post on those, also. Hope you can find some satisfying answers soon! Best wishes.
