i woke up with a nasty headache today.

i get them a lot.. and i hate it. i don't really like to take meds so, i try to steer clear of taking something for it. but sometimes i have to give in cuz they're bad.


is that normal to get frequent headaches?



i hate waking up in pain and not rested with splitting headaches.

there's seriously gotta be something that can be done about this.

i'm at my wit's end.

I can relate!  I have so many headaches.  Something that has helped me, I get up at the same time every day during the week (weekends I sleep in and usually pay for it) and go to bed at the same time.  A strict schedule but it has helped.  I also made changes to my diet and my doctor has me on a low dose of prozac.  I have eliminated 99% of refined sugar from my diet and eliminated flours.  Eating is no fun anymore sad .  My bad headaches come on the weekends when I veer from my schedule.  If I have a headache during the week, it's usually because I forgot my meds or we are experiencing bad weather. 

When I do have a bad headache, I crawl into bed with an ice pack and wait it out.

I hope your headache goes away quickly!!!

Tension and/or migraine headaches are a symptom of fibromyalgia.  I'm fortunate because that isn't one of my symptoms.  I know how horrible it can be though since my daughter has had migraines since she was a young child.  I don't like to take medicine either but I don't like pain even more so I'd head for the relief!

Hi all,

In the past few months I have had a huge increase in headaches. They last over night and I wake up with them also. Lately the pain in my shoulders/neck area has been more intense and that just seems to move on up into my head. I use warm neck wraps...sort of horseshoe shaped...and it helps. Heat of any kind usually helps relax the muscles and lessen the pain.

i have a heat pad.. maybe i should use those ...

hrmm.. i started suffering from tension headaches maybe like 6 years ago or so.. i went to see a neurologist about it.

the crappy thing is.. that there's just a wide array of symptoms with FMS and it's just overwhelming.. and if it's not one thing.. it's something else.

it's tiring, frustrating and exhausting.

i wish for a wonderful night sleep. i'd pay good money for that. and wake up feeling like a million bucks!

If it is a migraine, heat will make it worse. At least it does for me. Ice does wonders for my migraines. Caffiene also.

i think it was a migraine. it got so bad that i actually became really nauseated.
so weird. i felt like throwing up all afternoon!

and yah! caffeine is awesome for headaches apparently.

Excedrin actually has caffeine in it lol
the headache medecine ; ))

but i don't take it. although i took some tylenol today cuz i was in too much pain i had to give in.

Exedrin is the only thing that will ease a migraine for me and it totally gets rid of reg headaches. If I wake up with one I take 2 exedrin and lay back down and within 30 minutes I feel way better.

I know the headache you described..I used to get them too, and if I woke up with one, I knew my day would be spent on the couch, with frequent trips to the bathroom sad   Because like you, I would get very upset stomaches with them.  My doctor told me to take ibprofen for them, and I was told about the coffee too.

It sometimes took that headache right away.

I think my horrible headaches were hormonal, because now that I have gone through menopause, I never get the debilitaing ones that we are talking about.  Believe it or not...I had the most success with Anacin and coffee

Certainly hope you are rid of that headache this morning.

Headaches have been a part of my life for so long unless they get really intense I don't even think about them. I know a lot of mine come from my neck and the rest I think is sinus. Sometimes ice on my forehead will help, that seems to be where a lot of mine is. Sometimes heat on the neck or laying down to take the pressure off the neck muscles will help.

 

I do get them so intense sometimes that I literally can't see straight, those aren't fun. I really don't think any of mine are migraines.

 

Hope it goes away soon.

I think you may have Lyme Disease. You need to see a specialist. www.underourskin.com - see the trailer for this movie. Please let me know if I can help. I want to help people that are not getting the right diagnosis or no diagnosis at all to spare them the pain of what I have gone through.! Good luck.

I'm just very curious, how would a bad headache have anything to do with lyme disease...isnt there more than one symptom for most diseases and disorders?

I get really bad headaches. I have one right now. They are usually a bad dull pain toward the right backside of my head close to the top. Its a weird spot, I think, but...not much I can do... I usually just go along with it, nothing I take helps so... wish I were of more help

I don't have Lyme Disease. i actually got tested for that.. because when i got really sick in September of last year, we actually thought i had lyme disease. but yah.. none of that.

i heard you get headaches a lot when yer pregnant too
