Before I was diagnosed with fibro I was put on prozac for the monthly problems mentioned. It was given a different name and was supposed to help with pms, which it did. I can't remember what the doctor called it, I can't remember 5 minutes ago and this was 3 years ago, but the doctor told me it was prozac and taken in low doses the two weeks prior to your period. It did help. I had some problems still but things were pretty regular again, for awhile. The doctor then put me on a daily dose of prozac, still low 10mg I think. Again I had relief but it was temporary. Once I was diagnosed with fibro and my medications were increased my cycle went back to normal. It has been three years and my period are pretty regular but the dose of prozac keeps going up. SaraFem, I think that was what it was called, wow I can't believe I came up with that. I think my point was, yes I think Fibro has a lot to do with our monthly problems but if you are concerned always go with your gut and have it checked out. I must add that I had horrible pelvic pain, so bad it doubled me over. I had a lot of tests run and there was nothing wrong with me. Fibro gets us again.
