Glands Sore?

My glands in my throat seem to be swollen and it also hurts in the back of my neck. I'm feeling really tired more than usual. Are swollen glands a symptom of fibro?

Hi Hope,

I am not sure it that is a symptom, though I had that same problem and I chaulked that up to allergies. Maybe even weight gain. But my neck was swollen. I thought it may be thyroid, but the doctor said no. Though I have thought about asking for a second opinion about that one. We also have muscles in our necks and that might have something to do with it. If you ask your doctor about it, let me know what he/she said.

Well my glands feel like they are swollen and tender most of the time. However, the last time I went in for a physical(before I was diagnosed with fibro), I told my doctor that my neck was sore and it felt like swollen glands. She felt my neck and told me that nothing was swollen. I'm guessing it's just another one of the general aches that I get with fibro.

confused  My glands have permantly been up since I got the fibro.  The neck is very tender and swollen.  It just seems to be the fibro, I also have had my thryoid glands checked and it came up ok. :-) :-) :-)

When I have a very busy day, I notice that my neck becomes very sore. It gets to the point that the sides of my neck really hurt when I try to turn my head.

If I have a big flare, I have hurting and feels like swollen glands in my elbows, neck, groin and the backs of my knees.

My dr. will do blood work to rule out mono coming back. Sometimes it is just the flare, but then again I have had a few infections caught this way.

If someone can actually feel lumps in the glands, then I would go to the dr. to have some testing done and get their opinon. You don't want to be suffering if you can get better with an antibiotic. Also there are some dangerous things that can cause glands to be lumpy for a long time. Don't play around with your health. If you are worried, then please have it checked out by your dr.

Whenever the chronic fatigue acts up, my glands in my throat are sore.

I have been having the glands in neck feel like they are swollen and some sore throats. I had app with rheumy for Thurs but I decided to cancel and find a new rheumy that is more into fibro, MPS and chronic fatigue than the one I have been going to. It was like a lightbulb moment the other day as why I was going to this guy. idea

 

I'm sure it's going to take some time to get into see a new one so in the mean time I will have GP check it out.

I went to my primary Dr, she gave me some antibiotics and said it was a sinus infection, I started taking it but my glands in my throat feel worse...I guess it just takes time. I guess I didn't realize that anytime you have an illness the FM makes it feel so much worse. sad

I'm experiencing pain in my neck glands 2. I'm not sure if it's a usual symptom but it is quite painful and is happening 2 me.i

You may want to have a Western Blot done to test for lyme. I have sore neck and glands and was diagnosed with Lyme.

If you have lyme, you need to see a Lyme Literate doctor in your area.
