Tired but home safe and sound.

 

I came home to the devastating news that my 56 year old cousin, I grew up very close to, has terminal cancer. No one wanted to tell me before we left. They did chemo today to buy time. It's in her lungs, liver, kidney, adrenal gland, hip and brain. She was the health nut of the family that was always telling everyone what they should be doing to stay healthy. We never know what the master plan for us is.

 

She has a loving husband, 23 yr old son and 20 yr old daughter. I know what it is like losing a parent at that age.

 

Please pray to give them all strength.

Marlee, I'm glad your back safe and sound.  I hate to hear the news of your cousin though.  Everywhere I turn it seems like someone has cancer.  Yes, let's keep her and her family in our prayers.  I'm so sorry to hear your bad news.

Welcome back, Marlee.  I hope you had a good time at the reunion.

 

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin.  That's far too young to be so sick.  That sure puts things in perspective.  My prayers are going out for her and her family.

Oh Marlee, I am so sorry!  Your cousin and her family have my prayers. I was in my twenties when I lost my father to lung cancer, its never easy.

I'm happy you are back and that you enjoyed your reunion.

Im really glad that you are back Marlee, but Im not glad at all to hear of your cousin. I know just how that is though... Unfortunately, thats pretty much what my grandmother had, I know it all to well.... even though I didnt find out til a week ahead of time. But, I hope you get to spend some time with your cousin. We never know why, but everything happens for a reason, whether good or bad. I hate that the bad things have to happen, and shes so young. My heart sinks hearing about these kinds of things. I know someone else had said a family member had cancer also. But, you, she, and your family are in my thoughts. Take good care of youself, and best wishes

I'm so sorry for the sad news. I lose my favorite cousin to brain cancer and I miss her every day. Will pray for peace and comfort for her and your family.

I'm so glad you got home safe.  You really have been missed. I will keep your cousin and family in my prayers. What terrible news to come home to shakehead

Please try to at least rest your body for the next couple of days. I know the stress and shock of this news will make that very difficult, but you know we are all here for you when you need to talk.

Hi Marlee-

Happy to hear you made it home safe and sound. But not to the news about your cousin. How sad.

My mom was 60 years "young" when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and we lost her a year later. My sister, brother and I were in our early 30's and had 10 more years of lifes experiences than her kids. They are just starting out. My heart goes out to you and her family. GamJill

Thanks girls. I have not talked to her. They really blasted her with chemo yesterday. It will destroy her immune system. I don't think it has really sunk in yet and probably won't til I do talk to her.

 

My dad died of cancer at 56, a month before my 23rd birthday.

 

Fibro seems like a minor little problem to me right now.
